Welcome back from the Dream Reality Team!
How exciting we have reached the final step in developing your own personal success affirmation! The last post discussed step 5 of the change my mindset series. Whilst this step brought the affirmation together, there is still one final step which is very important in making sure you have a changed mindset and achieve your goal! So without further delay let’s bring it all together!
Step 6 in developing your success affirmation for changing your mindset.
With your completed success affirmation from Part 5 in hand, we are now ready to discuss the final step which is key to making your affirmation work for you and in changing your mindset. Step 6 of the Think and Grow Rich plan states “read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night and once after arising in the morning. As you read – see and feel and believe yourself already in possession of it”.
Don’t forget you can grab your free copy of the Think and Grow Rich book by clicking here.
How can step 6 in the success affirmation development change my mindset?
Step 6 really is the step which what will make this all successful for you. It is one thing to say a statement to yourself, but another to believe it. If you are going to achieve your goal believing you are already in possession of it is key.
To help achieve this, sit down and really think about the goal you made. Now imagine you already have it. How does it make you feel? Is it happiness? Are you proud of yourself? What are you doing now you have achieved it? Allow this feeling to fill you up and consume you for a moment. Remember this feeling and attach it to when you read your affirmation out aloud each day.
To continue the money example from this series which lead us to the completed affirmation:
I will possess $1,000,000 by the 13/08/11. I will achieve this by investing my money in stocks. When I have obtained $1,000,000 I plan to give back by participating in the speaking in schools programmes to educate the community on how to achieve their money goals.
It is not enough to just say this everyday! When you say this, really feel it! When you read it aloud twice daily imagine you already have it and the feelings that go along with it! By doing this you will find you are changing your mindset! Your mindset will ensure you are actively seeking more positive results that will allow you to achieve your desired goal.
We hope you have enjoyed this series on changing your mindset through developing you own affirmation. Stay tuned for more posts which look at other ways to help your mindset and develop success in all areas of your life!

Welcome back from the Dream Reality Team!
The last post looked at part 4 of this series “change my mindset – affirmations.” The fourth key concept in changing your mindset and developing your success affirmation is creating that definite plan and putting it in to action. With your planned developed and in action, part five in developing your success affirmation can now be unveiled!
Step 5 in developing your success affirmation for changing your mindset.
Step five of the Think and Grow Rich plan puts all the previous steps into place and finally develops your affirmation! Write out a clear concise statement of the exact and definite goal you chose in step one. The statement must also contain what you will give back for achieving the goal (Part two), the date you will have achieved your goal by (Part three) and how you intend to achieve the goal (Part four).
How do put my affirmation statement together to ensure a changed mindset?
Writing out your statement is not as hard as it may initially seem. It is simply putting all the steps together you have already learnt and put into action. To demonstrate how a statement is pulled together, let’s continue the running example of the money goal. To recap, the money goal followed this plan:
Part One: The definite sum of money: $1,000,000
Part Two: What I will give back: Speaking in schools.
Part Three: Exact date I will have achieved this: One year from now – 13/08/11
Part Four: Exact plan for achieving this: invest in stocks.
To pull this all together the affirmation statement might go something like this:
I will possess $1,000,000 by the 13/08/11. I will achieve this by investing my money in stocks. When I have obtained $1,000,000 I plan to give back by participating in the speaking in schools programmes to educate the community on how to achieve their money goals.
Whilst the money goal might not be your goal, it can be seen how all the previous sections can be pulled in together. Don’t delay any longer! Pull the pieces of the puzzle together now and create the success affirmation you need to change your mindset.
In the next blog, the final step in this series (change my mindset) will be discussed. Now you have your own success affirmation, we will look at the step required to making it successful for you!

Welcome back from the Dream Reality Team!
Part three of this series “change my mindset – affirmations” discussed the notion of putting a date on when you will have achieved your goal. It is not an easy thing to do, but in order for success, you must be definite in your success affirmation in order to change your mindset. Without further delay, let’s delve in to the fourth step in changing your mindset through success affirmations.
Step 4 in developing your success affirmation for changing your mindset.
Step four of the Think and Grow Rich plan states “Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready to or not, to put this into action”. Basically, this is developing your own action plan for your goal!
This concept is considerably harder than some of the other steps. However when your mind is set on a goal, you would be surprised the ways you can achieve it! Don’t let a negative mindset hold you back any longer! Now is the time to formulate the plan of action.
How do I define a plan to achieve my goal with a changed mindset?
Developing your goal’s plan is something which is unique and individual to everyone. However, let’s continue with one of the examples from the part three of this series to gain an understanding of what the action plan involves.
If your goal is the promotion at work, which was set for a date exactly in three months, how will you achieve this? Once again it is not enough to say “I will work harder”. Instead be definite:
- What will you do to work harder? E.g. is there a specific task that needs achieving that gives you an extra edge?
- Will you set up a meeting with the boss immediately to inform him you will be getting a promotion in three months?
- Will you discuss with your boss what needs to happen to get the promotion within three months?
These are just a few suggestions of many that can be thought of, and these questions can be formulated for any goal you have. The idea though is not to be vague at all. Map out your time frame, and know every step of the plan, it is an important part of developing your success affirmation.
Don’t waste another minute of your time not achieving your goal! Write your action plan out now and begin to take the action! Writing this down will ensure you are on the path to a changed mindset!
In the next blog, the fifth of the six steps in developing your own success affirmation and changing your mindset will be discussed.

Part two of the series “Change my mindset – Affirmations” focused on the second important step in developing your own personal success affirmation. Step two described giving something back in return your goal (as there is no such thing as something for nothing!).
Giving back in return for achieving your goal not only inspires you to achieve it but can also give a sense of fulfillment. With the knowledge of what you would like to give back in return for achieving your goal, lets move on to the third step in developing your own success affirmation and changing your mindset!
Step three in developing affirmations to change your mindset.
In the book “Think and Grow Rich”, step three in developing your affirmation is defining a date in your mind in which you intend to have possessed your goal. It is not simply enough to say in 2015 I will have achieved my goal. In order to really change your mindset and be on the path for success you must define the EXACT date.
Setting the date must include the day, month and the year of the possession of the goal. This is not to indicate that the goal will necessarily be achieved specifically on this date. Instead think of it is a deadline, and you are free to achieve the goal long before this as well.
How do I set a date for my success affirmation?
Setting the date for your success affirmation is personal. Only you can determine this! Think about your goal properly, and fix a date your feel you will have achieved it by. In my experience I find it helps not to be TOO generous! This means you should not carry the mindset that you will give yourself longer than you think is needed just in case you cannot achieve it in time!
As this is about changing your mindset, have faith in yourself (this includes having no doubt you will achieve it). You can achieve it in a shorter time than you think!
No matter what your goal is, a date can be set. If your goal was the $1,000,000 as mentioned in Part One and Two, when will you achieve this by? If you think it will take about a year, confirm the date as exactly one year from today’s date. Perhaps your goal is to get the promotion at work, take time to think about the time frame for which this is possible. If it might take “about three months” set the date exactly three months from now. It is all about precision!
Goals vary so much, and can be vastly different between individuals. However no matter what your goal is, if you want to achieve it (and change your mindset), don’t delay any further. Set the date you will achieve it by today!
In the next blog, the fourth of the six steps in developing your own success affirmation and changing your mindset will be discussed.

Welcome back from the Dream Reality Team
Part one of the series “Change my mindset – Affirmations” discussed the first vital step in developing your own personal affirmation for reaching your goal. The first step was defining the goal precisely and entirely in your mind to confirm your own success affirmation. With your goal in mind lets move on to step two in developing your affirmation.
The second step in developing your own success affirmation.
The second step in the “Think and Grow Rich” book is to determine exactly what you will give back in return for achieving the goal. This is based on the principle that you don’t just get something for nothing. What you give back is entirely a personal decision and can only be determined by you, but just imagine how good it will feel to give something back when you have achieved your goal.
What could you give back for achieving your goals?
If it is money you desire, what could you give back in exchange for achieving your goal through a success affirmation? As part one of this series mentioned, the goal for money must be defined at a set amount. For the purpose of this example let’s say you chose $1,000,000. Once you have obtained one million, what could you give in return for this. Would you teach people in your community how to reach their money goals? Programmes such as speaking in schools to inspire youth on achieving goals can be an excellent way to give back.
Let’s continue my own example discussed in Part One, of wanting to become a vet. When I achieve this goal I intend to give something back. I plan to give back by volunteering my time as a vet for underprivileged animals and support animal charity programmes. The feeling of achieving my goal makes me want to be able to give this back, and repeating this in my own success affirmation helps everyday to be a step closer in achieving my goals.
It does not matter what your goal is, something can always be given back in return for it. You will find that through doing this you will actually be inspired to achieve it and to achieve more goals you set. Take some time over the next few days to write down some of the ideas you have on what you might like to give back in return for achieving your goal. This will ensure you are on track for developing your own personal success affirmation!
In the next blog, the third of the six steps in developing your own success affirmation and changing your mindset will be discussed.

Welcome back from the Dream Reality Team!
Last week’s post “How can affirmations help change my mindset?” defined affirmations and described the powerful ability they wield. The task set from last week was to write down your goals and develop a list of achievements (no matter how big or small) that you want in your life. With that list in hand and some helpful guidance you can go from questioning “how do I change my mindset?” to turning your dreams into reality.
The six step process to changing your mindset
The six step process for developing your own personal affirmation and changing your mindset is adapted from author Napoleon Hill’s book “Think and Grow Rich” which you can get your free copy of by clicking here. This process will be spanned across six different posts, to allow importance to be placed upon each step of the journey and to ensure your affirmation is developed in a way which is personal and important to you and your goals.
The first step in developing your own affirmation.
From your list of goals, for the purpose of this exercise, lets pick only one, and it can be any goal you like! The first step is to define the goal precisely in your mind, and be definite about it.
In the book, Think and Grow Rich, the example given is achieving a goal related to money. In terms of precision and definiteness, it is not enough to simply say you want to be rich or have millions of dollars. If your goal, like this example is to be rich, you must fix in your mind the exact amount of money you wish to have. This is a personal choice for each individual, e.g. for one man it might be $30,000 he desires, whilst for another it might be $1,000,000.
Money is not necessary the goal on everyone’s mind, but the principle of precision placed upon developing the goal in your mind is the same. It may be that you want a new car. However, this is not enough. Imagine everything about this car in your mind:
· What colour is the paint?
· What model is it or what brand?
· What brand of tyres does it have?
· What colour are the seats?
· Does it have an audio system in it? Etc.
To demonstrate how it can be applied to anything, let’s have a look at my own personal goal. I have a strong passion to work with animals in my life, and one of my goals has always to become a vet. To apply the same principles to my goal, it is not enough to just say in my mind I want to be a vet. To allow myself to change my mindset, I have to really imagine my goal. For this I imagine myself working in my own clinic, what I will be wearing, the patients I will be treating, the colour of the paint in the clinic etc.
The key to making to making it work for you:
No matter what your goal is in life, whether you think it is big or small, as long as you really want it you can apply this step in order to change your mindset and develop your own personal affirmation. Just remember to be definite and precise in your goal and really imagine it. Take a few days to really develop your imagery, and write down the key points as you think of them!
In the next blog, the second of the six steps in developing your own affirmation will be discussed.

Welcome back from the Dream Reality Team!
Last blog we spoke about your mindset and how it can be changed through the powerful use of affirmations. So without further delay lets delve into the exciting world of affirmations!!!
What is an affirmation?
Google’s definition of the word “affirmation” appears as “a statement asserting the existence or the truth of something”. Whilst this definition is concise, it instantly creates imagery in my mind of how affective it can be in developing a change in mindset.
To enable a change in mindset, the affirmation must reflect upon a goal you want to achieve in your life and be written in a positive way. The goal can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be, however it must be something you are truly passionate about to enable a change in your mindset.
For example: Affirmations can be based on anything: from learning to be calmer to getting that job you have always wanted. To understand positive affirmations a little more watch the video below on Powerful Affirmations.
Why are affirmations powerful?
Many people might think (Just as I used to): how can a statement change my life? However, passing an affirmation off as a mere “statement” can potentially be the worst mistake to make, and hold you back from reaching your goals. Taking the time to understand, develop and implement your personal affirmations can truly change your mindset and your whole life as well!
The distinct point to notice about an affirmation is the last part of the definition. An affirmation involves asserting the existence or truth of something.
Therefore, to make affirmations powerful as mentioned in last week’s blog “Mindset and affirmations”, the statement must be said out loud EVERYDAY with feeling to feed positivity and belief into your subconscious brain. When your subconscious brain receives this message everyday, your conscious brain will begin to allow you to act differently and “seek out” positive opportunities to achieve your goal in ways you might not have thought possible.
But how do I make my own affirmation?
Affirmations vary and developing your own is not always as easy as you think. However, there is a common six step practise to developing and implementing your own affirmation which will be covered across the following series of blogs.
Before the series begins, some preliminary action on your behalf must be taken. Think about your goals in life, and write them down. No matter how big or small the goal is, write it all down and develop a list of things you want in your life. Don’t rush, give yourself time and keep the list close by to you to always add new goals you get (and to cross off ones you achieve!). Knowing what you want out of life will help developing your own personal affirmation a lot easier!
In the next blog, the first of the six steps in developing your own affirmation will be discussed.

Your mindset reflects a distinctive mental attitude you keep that influences strongly on how you will respond and act in certain situations. For instance, if you believe all dogs are aggressive, it is likely, that in all situations where dogs and you are present, aggressive behaviour will be displayed. This is most likely true for an instance in which a whole group of people may be present also around the dog, but it is you which will incur the aggressive behaviour of the dog.
This situation is not just the mere coincidence that you happen to meet all the aggressive dogs in the world. However, the mindset you keep “that all dogs are aggressive”, reflects strongly about how you respond and act in situations where dogs are present, perhaps acting jumpy or even over confident around dogs, which they perceive and are most likely to act aggressively towards.
Negative mindsets and negative choices:
Whilst this case of mindset about dogs is not applicable to the mindset of all people, it is a mere example of how mindset influences responses. For something more applicable to the greater population let’s take a look at the aspect of wealth.
Take the example of a person (for this example named Harry) who has been raised in a household in which his parents have worked Monday to Friday 9-5 jobs everyday of their lives. Therefore holding the attitude that they have to work hard this way to make an honest living. It is most likely that Harry, takes on board this same attitude, and adopts the same mindset that his parents had. Therefore, when an opportunity to make a large sum of money is presented to Harry through an non-traditional method. The mindset which Harry keeps will result in him rejecting the opportunity and thinking it is a scam.
While mindset in these examples has been somewhat negative, the alternative is that mindset can be very powerful in a very positive way. However, as most of us are raised in a similar household to Harry, positive mindsets seem uncommon in today’s society.
Positive affirmations for changing your mindset:
One way to change a negative mindset to a positive one is through the power of positive affirmations. An affirmation is “a statement asserting the existence or the truth of something”. Affirmations work on the principle that if you repeat a positive statement to yourself repeatedly, out loud and with feeling everyday, you can feed into your subconscious aspects such as positivity and belief. The feeding of these aspects to your subconscious ultimately changes a person’s mindset, resulting in a changed response and action to any given situation.
In the next blog, affirmations will be further explained, with discussion into the first step in developing your own personal affirmation.
